Yannick Franke picked up by AEK Athens

Yannick Franke AEK Athens (Greece-A1) is getting an infusion of some young blood this 2016-17 with the addition of Yannick Franke (194 cm). He is a 20-year-old Dutch player who has been a member of the Dutch national team since 2015. Yannick was originally set to start the season playing for ASP Promitheas Patras (Greece-A1). He started the 2015-16 season with Dutch powerhouse Donar Groningen (Netherlands-Eredivisie). He played six games for them in the FIBA Europe Cup and averaged 14.3 ppg and 3.9 rpg. Franke also appeared in 17 games in the Dutch Eredivisie and averaged 13.2 ppg and 5.7 rpg. In March 2016 he headed to the Bisons Loimaa (Finland-Korisliiga), where he finished the season. He played six VTB United League games for his new team and averaged 15.7 ppg and 5.0 rpg. In a dozen Finnish league games Yannick posted averages of 7.5 ppg and 3.5 rpg.
