Vlada Vukoičić has been fired by Red Star Belgrade from Serbia. A decision that comes totally unexpected, although the result of the Rd and Whites have been poor lately.

Red Star had a slow start this season, losing the first two games in the Adriatic league after which head coach Milivoje Lazić was fired and replaced by Vlada Vukoičić.

Under his leadership Red Star did very well and ended second in the regular season of the Adriatic league and still has a chance to win the title at the Final Four that takes place later this month. That would also mean an automatic qualification for the Euroleague next season.

In the meantime, the Serbian league has started and Red Star has been struggling. There was a lucky escape at home against Radnicki Kragujevac and a painful home loss to arch rival Partizan Belgrade. But the strow that broke the camel’s back was the shocking home loss this weekend against Mega Vizura.

As a result, head coach Vlada Vukoičić has been fired. He will most probably be replaced by Montenegrin coach Dejan Radonjić who coached Buducnost this season and was a candidate for the Montenegrin National Team.
