Valentin Yurchik joins Spartak

Valentin Yurchik (207 cm) has signed on to return to play for Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-PBL) for the remainder of the season. He started the season with BC Nizhny Novgorod (Russia-PBL), where he’s been for the last two seasons. In 2010-11 he played eight games in the EuroChallenge, averaging 12.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. In the Russian League he tallied 6.6 points per game over 16 games. Yurchik has also played for the Spartak U23 squad back in 2008-09 and the Spartak-2 squad in the Russia Higher League in 2006-07 and 2007-08. His name is commonly spelt Yurchyk.
