Turkish Airlines EuroLeague: Round 3 Kicks Off

 The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague zipped straight into Round 3 action on Thursday with four games to entertain its loyal fans. Once again we see CSKA Moscow secure another win for themselves. Their latest victim? This time they defeated a worthy adversary in Darussafaka Istanbul 79-75. Now at 3-0, CSKA Moscow holds the temporary solo lead in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings, with Fenerbahce, Real Madrid and Olympiacos hot on their heels.

Cory Higgins led the red army with 14 points and was pivotal in orchestrating a run in the third quarter to take the lead away from the visiting Turkish club. Nando de Colo cooled off in this game but still finished with 10 points and three assists.

Panathinaikos Athens had little to no difficulty in dispatching with Herbalife Gran Canaria in a 102-87 blowout victory in their home soil. They notched their second win of the regular season, thanks to the excellent game played by Ioannis Papapetrou who stepped up with 15 points and seven boards. Keith Langford and Lukas Lekavicius shared top-scoring honors with 16 points each.

FC Barcelona Lassa secured their first win of the 2018-19 season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague after defeating Germany’s FC Bayern Munich 83-73. Ante Tomic came through for Barca in this game with a dominant performance as he tallied 18 points, five rebounds and five assists to pace the winners. Barcelona looked well-composed in this encounter as five of their players were involved in the action, scoring in double figures.

It was a rough day for Buducnost Podgorica as they fell to 0-3 after losing to Maccabi Tel Aviv 68-78. This is the first win for the Maccabi T-A and they look to rise up in the league standings with the much-needed momentum gained from this victory. Scottie Wilbekin was an unstoppable beast for the blue and yellow as he dropped a monster game with 28 points (6 3-pointers), four rebounds and five assists. He was on fire and could not be contained by Buducnost.
