Turkish Airlines EuroLeague: CSKA Falls To Baskonia

Turkish Airlines EuroLeague CSKA Moscow suffered its second loss of the season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Friday, November 7th as they fell on the road against Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz 76-73. They still share second place with Real Madrid in the standings with 9-2 records. This is the fourth win for Baskonia and they hold steady at 12th place. Fenerbahce Istanbul now claims the solo lead in the standings with their fantastic 10-1 slate.

This a clear upset but Baskonia was clear in wanting to defend their home court with an impressive defensive effort. They kept the game close all throughout its duration. It could have gone either way but Vincent Poirer and Tornike Shenegalia combined for a perfect 10-of-10 at the free throw line and chimed in with 18 and 15 points, respectively, to power the hosts to the eventual victory.

Alec Peters did his best to keep CSKA a fighting chance with his game-high 20 points but it was not enough to take the road win.

Here are the results of the rest of the games that took place on November 7th in Round 11 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 2018-19 regular season:

Anadolu Efes 82-84 Real Madrid

Baskonia 76-73 CSKA Moscow
