Stephen Curry suffers broken left hand vs. Suns

Things turned from bad to worse for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Their star point guard Stephen Curry suffered a broken left hand after Suns’ center Aron Baynes (AUS) landed on it after an awkward collision between the two players.

Prior to this horrific injury to the team’s top scorer, the Warriors had their sights set on another run at the playoffs in 2019-20. That dream is now a nightmare as the club will surely struggle in a tough Western Conference.

Curry went for a layup but after baning bodies with the 118kg Aussie big man, he fell to the floor.

Baynes, after losing his own balance, fell backward, landing on Curry’s hand.

Curry was slow to get up and headed straight to the locker room, unable to shoot his free throws from the foul committed during the play. Not long after, team doctors diagnosed him with a broken left hand and the player headed to the hospital immediately for more tests.

Given the gravity of the injury, Curry, who is widely regarded as one of the best shooters of all-time, could be looking at a multiple-month timetable for his return.

The Warriors are already missing the services of Klay Thompson, who is recovering from surgery that repaired a torn ACL.
