Solna Vikings Withdraws from Basketligan

Solna Vikings

The Solna Vikings have announced their withdrawal from the Swedish Basketligan. The 2008 league champions are pulling out due to financial difficulties. The team has been working on stabilizing their financial issues over the last couple of seasons, but have unfortunately been able to deal with the build up of debt.

“It is taking responsibility. We have liabilities that gradually built up and we can not continue one more season in the Basketball League to build on the debt, says Solna Chairman John Carlandersplatsen.”

The Swedish league has announced that the 2015/16 will run with 11 teams, with the regular season being played out for 34 rounds.
