Shizuoka Gymrats to Return to the ABA Next Season

Indianapolis, IN. – The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that the Shizuoka Gymrats will return to the ABA as an “at large” traveling team for the upcoming season. Last season, the Gymrats played 27 games against ABA teams in California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado and provided exciting competition wherever the played.

“The thing that makes this so unique,” stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO, “is that the Gymrats play these games as ‘special charity games’ to raise money for the earthquake victims in Japan – and all of the ABA teams are more than glad to help with this worthy project.”

“I am so excited to be back in the ABA this season,” added T. Okada, Gymrats GM. “We have just completed a very successful trip to France and we think we’ll have an even better and more entertaining team this year. We hope to play over 20 games against some of the ABA’s best teams and are already beginning to develop our schedule.”
