Shamari Spears inks with Summerside Storm

American forward Shamari Spears (198 cm, Charlotte’11) has moved to Summerside Storm (Canada, NBL) after recently trying out with fellow Canadian outfit London Lightning. Spears started the 2012-2013 season with Instituto Profesional Virginio Gomez (Chile, DIMAYOR) but returned to Canada for a try-out with the London Lightning.

It was a little bit of a surprise that London did not add Shamari Spears to its roster, after-all the player had enjoyed a good season with the franchise in 2011-2012. During 38 games with the outfit last season Spears notched up 13.2ppg and 4.1rpg. It proved a good season for Spears and the team as the London Lightning claimed the NBL Canada championship.
