Sam Young opts for Sydney Kings

After recently being waived by the San Antonio Spurs, Sam Young (198 cm, Pittsburgh’09) has decided to take his talents overseas and sign with the Sydney Kings from Australia’s NBL. He was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies as the 36th pick of the 2009 NBA draft.

Young spent the 2012-13 season playing for the Indiana Pacers. In 71 games Young averaged 2.5 ppg and 2.1 rpg as a reserve. He was released by Indiana on January 2013.  In 2011-12 he split time with the Grizzlies where he played 21 games and averaged 3.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg and the Philadelphia 76ers where played 15 games and averaged 2.7 ppg and 1.4 rpg.
