Coach Jason Rabedeaux dies at 49

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Saigon Heat (Vietnam-ASEAN League) head coach Jason Rabedeaux passed Monday morning. He was 49 years old. Rabedeaux was the head coach of UTEP in the NCAA from 1999 to 2002. He also served as director of Basketball Operations for Marquette University in 2007-08. From there he moved on to coach in China’s CBA for two seasons (2008-10) for the Jiangsu Nangang Dragons. He guided them to a league semifinals appearance in 2009.

Jason joined the Heat in the 2012-13 season and was well known for pushing for the development of basketball in Vietnam. Here is a message posted on the Saigon Heat’s website:
