Smeulders extends with EWE Baskets

EWE Baskets Oldenburg from Germany’s BBL has given Robin Smeulders (207 cm, Portland’10) a two-year contract extension. The Dutch-German player has been with EWE Baskets since graduating college in 2010 and is a good prospect for the team’s future.

In 2012-13 he played 33 games in the German league and averaged 6.8 ppg and 3.6 rpg. He also played 16 games for them in the EuroChallenge and logged averages of 8.4 ppg and 3.8 rpg.

In the 2011-12 season he averaged 4.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg in seven EuroChallenge games. Smeulders averaged 4.5 ppg and 3.9 rpg in 25 games in the German league.

Robin has represented the Netherlands in international play as a member of the Dutch National Team from 2010 to 2012.
