Rihards Kuksiks (197 cm, Arizona State’11) has signed in Ukraine with Budivelnyk Kyiv. The Latvian guard started this season in Spain with ACB team Lagun Aro Gipuzkoa BC. He averaged 5.5 ppg there in 15 games. Rihards Kuksiks played in the Spanish ACB last season as well (Valencia Basket). Kuksiks is a Latvian national team player and while playing college basketball for Arizona State he averaged 10.4 ppg per game in the PAC-10 Conference. The coach of Budivelnyk is fellow country man Ainars Bagatskis who is also the coach of the Latvian national team, where he coached Kuksiks. Budivelnyk is currently ranked number one in the Ukrainian championship with a 19-7 record. The club also participates in the Eurocup.
