Quinnel Brown named NBL Player of the Week

Quinnel Brown

(TORONTO, ON) The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Quinnel Brown of the Halifax Rainmen has been named the Recharge with Milk Player of the Week for the week ending December 9, 2012. This is the first time this season that a Halifax Rainmen player has earned this honour.

While Brown, a 6’6” 210-pound forward from Auburn, averaged 13 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games this weekend, it was his last-second heroics in an 87-84 Friday night victory over the Oshawa Power that earned him the Player of the Week accolades. With seconds remaining on the clock and Oshawa with possession, Brown stole the ball and heaved a shot from three-quarters of the length of the court. The ball landed in the cylinder, and the Rainmen won in a highlight shot that has received worldwide recognition in the basketball world. The shot even made TSN’s “Highlight of the Night!”
