Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona Lassa (Spain-Liga Endesa) has signed Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194 cm) for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The 28-year-old Finn has seen stints for the Finnish national team in 2006 to 2009 and again in 2012 up to the present. He heads to FC Barcelona after spending the last three seasons on the roster of BC Khimky Moscow Region (Russia-VTB). In 2015-16 Petteri played two dozen games for Khimky during their run in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. He was able to average 8.5 ppg and 2.3 apg. Koponen also logged 35 games for them in the VTB United league and there he managed to record averages of 11.4 ppg and 3.6 apg.
