Omar Thomas newcomer to Zenit

Omar Thomas (196 cm, UTEP’05) is set to continue his professional career this 2016 as a member of Zenit St. Petersburg (Russia-VTB). This will be his third team this season. Thomas began 2015-16 playing in Mexico for Halcones Rojos de Veracruz (Mexico-LNBP). In a dozen games Omar produced averages of 13.4 ppg and 7.8 rpg. In December 2015 the player headed to Europe after signing a deal to play for B.C. Vita Tbilisi (Georgia-Superleague). Thomas played nine games for them in the VTB United League and was able to deliver solid double-double averages of 19.9 ppg and 10.2 rpg. Zenit is currently in seventh place in the VTB League standings with their 11-4 record.
