Omar-Sharif Cook to Lietuvos Rytas

Veteran international player Omar-Sharif Cook (188 cm, St. John’s’01) will continue his career in Lithuania this 2013-14. The American guard, who also has Montenegrin citizenship, been signed by Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius (LKL). Cook split his 2012-13 season between playing in Spain and in Italy.

Omar-Sharif began the 2012-13 season playing for EA7 Emporio Armani Milano from Italy’s SerieA. In 11 games in the Italian league he averaged 7.1 ppg and 4.1 apg. He represented EA7 Armani in 10 games in the Euroleague and there he averaged 7.3 ppg and 5.0 apg. In December 2012 he moved to Caja Laboral Vittoria from Spain’s Liga Endesa. In a reserve role he logged 18 games for them in the Euroleague and averaged 3.1 ppg and 3.5 apg. In the Spanish league he averaged 2.9 ppg and 2.7 apg.
