NCAA: Gonzaga Tops AP Polls After Week 4

NCAA Four weeks into the 2018-19 season the NCAA, the AP Poll has anointed a new top-ranked team, Gonzaga University. The Zags narrowly edged out the Kansas City Jayhawks in the voting 32 to 31. This comes on the heels of their win over NCAA powerhouse, Duke University. They edged out previously undefeated Duke 89-87 on November 22nd. What is even more impressive than the win itself was the fact that the Bulldogs got it done without key player Killian Tillie who is sidelined for around two months with an ankle injury. The Blue Devils had dominated their competition prior to this loss, making this the definition of a quality win for Gonzaga.

Kansas is by no means out of the discussion to be rated the top team in the NCAA. They’re also undefeated with a 5-0 record. They were the consensus favorites but were unseated by Duke when they blasted through Kentucky in the season opener.
