NCAA: Armando Bacot Commits To UNC

Armando Bacot NCAA – Five-star recruit Armando Bacot (206) has announced that he is committing to the University of North Carolina for the 2018-19 season. He is the 21st ranked prospect at the moment and will bring some size and athleticism to the Tar Heels frontcourt. Duke, Georgia, Kansas, and Villanova were among the schools in his short list for consideration.

He explained that coach Roy Williams was a key factor in his decision.

“What separated UNC from all of them was Coach Roy Williams and Hubert Davis were in constant communication with me and I felt like their plan for me was probably the best for me,” Bacot said.

“I think I’ll have a great chance to win a national championship and also to fulfill my dream of being a professional one day and also the school, I really liked it. My parents felt the most comfortable with UNC too.”

He played for the USA in FIBA Americas U18 championships and was able to deliver 7.8 ppg and 5.0 rpg in six games.
