NBL Canada Draft

(TORONTO, ON) On Monday night, the 2012 NBL Canada Draft presented by Recharge With Milk took place in the Aurora Suite at the Renaissance Hotel.

The Windsor Express made 6’10 Centre, Robert Curtis the first overall pick of the 2012 NBL Canada Draft. The Saint John Mill Rats acquired the Express’ #1 pick by trading their #5 pick (1st Round) and rights of G Isaac Kuon.

The Moncton Miracles made a trade before the draft began by acquiring All-Star Forward Tyrone Levett & Centre Christian Upshaw in exchange for their #2 pick (1st Round.) The Miracles also selected F Kamar Burke, the first Canadian taken in the 2012 NBL Canada Draft, with the 8th and final pick of the 1stRound.

Summerside Storm left the Aurora Suite with six players to enhance their roster. The Storm entered the 2012 NBL Canada Draft with five picks and with a last minute trade with the Oshawa Power by acquiring the 1st Round draft pick Chad Gillaspy.

The 2012 NBL Canada Champion London Lightning made moves by acquiring the Laval Kebs’ first and second round picks for cash considerations. They also closed out the evening by selecting G Obinna Agomo with the final selection in the 2012 NBL Canada Draft.
