Mirza Begic waived by New Orleans Pelicans

Mirza Begic (216 cm) is looking for a new station after being waived by the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA (United States of America). The Slovenian is an ex-international of his national team and also holds dual citizenship with Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was tabbed by the Pelicans during the summer, but will depart the franchise before playing a game.

The center started the 2014/2015 season playing for Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia, Telemach League and Adriatic League) in his home nation. With the club he played eighteen Euroleague games and averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Mirza Begic moved to Laboral Kutxa Vitoria (Spain, Liga Endesa) later in the term and completed the season on the Iberian Peninsula. Begic has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Spanish giant Real Madrid.
