Melbourne signs Kevin Braswell

Kevin Braswell (188 cm, Georgetown’02), 33, a point guard with silky skills, excellent ball handling and very good floor vision has signed in Australia with the Melbourne Tigers.

Braswells career has included playing in the NBA D-League before progressing to the top divisions of Europe, including France, Greece, Russia and Turkey.

Australian basketball fans may remember Braswell playing 41 NBL games with the New Zealand Breakers (Jan 2010 – April 2011), leading the team to the top of the ladder at the end of regular season and their first NBL Championship in 2011.

After the Championship success, Braswell signed with the Southport Sharks in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL), during the NBL off season, where after only five games he suffered a season ending Achilles injury. It was the first major injury he had suffered playing professionally in 12 countries.

After a three month layoff he was back on the court for the 2012 NZNBL season where he averaged an impressive 20.6 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in 16 games.
