Marcus Williams to leave Malaga

Marcus Williams (191 cm, Connecticut’06) will not stay with Unicaja Malaga (Spain, ACB) next season after being released by the club. The American has played plenty of times for Malaga this season in both the ACB and the Euroleague but the club has decided that his services will not be needed for the 2013/2014 season. The former Memphis Grizzlies guard played in 24 Euroleague games this season and averaged 10.5ppg, 2.7rpg and 3.3apg while in the ACB he managed 8.8ppg, 2.4rpg and 3.3apg from 29 games.

27-year old Marcus Williams has NBA experience after playing 61 games for the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2009/2010 season, although he only averaged limited minutes on the court. It was a similar story during an earlier stint with the Golden State Warriors, where the guard only featured in 9 games before being moved on.
