Marco Belinelli to join the Spurs

Marco Belinelli (196 cm) will play with the San Antonio Spurs (USA, NBA) next season and for the 2014/2015 campaign after agreeing terms on a two year contract with the franchise. The Italian star has been playing with the Chicago Bulls this year but will now head to this seasons beaten finalists for the next two years. Over 85 games for the Bulls this season the guard logged averages of 9.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

The 27-year old will have to wait until July 10th to officially sign a contract that is reported to be worth $5.6 million. Marco Belinelli has received more lucrative offers from other franchises, most notably the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the recent success of the Spurs and the international makeup of the roster is said to have swayed the Italian’s decision.
