Malcolm Thomas (206 cm, San Diego State ’11) has been released from his contract by Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv (Israel – Winner League). Thomas played 27 games for Maccabi, including 12 in the Winner League and 14 in the Euroleague. In the 12 Winner League games he averaged 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game and in the 15 Euroleague games he averaged 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Thomas grew increasingly frustrated with his decreased playing time and it was reported that he had previously requested out of his contract, but was originally denied the request.

Thomas started his collegiate career at Pepperdine and ended it at San Diego State. In his three seasons he played in 107 games and averaged 11.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game over those 107 games. After going undrafted, he was signed by Mobis Phoebus (Korea-KBL) where he suited up in 17 games, averaging 20.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers in Dec. of 2011 and assigned to the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA D-League. In Jan., 2012 he was signed by the San Antonio Spurs, seeing the court in three games before being assigned to the Austin Toros of the D-League. He spent the rest of the 2012 season bouncing between D-League teams, as well as a quick assignment with the Houston Rockets, but not actually getting in any games.
