Maarten Leunen deals with Avellino

Maarten Leunen (206 cm, Oregon’08) has decided to play for Scandone Avellino in the Italian Serie A top flight during the coming season. The American spent last season playing for Ratiopharm Ulm in the German Bundesliga BBL, while also featuring in the Eurochallenge tournament. Over 42 games last season in Ulm, Maarten Leunen collected averages of 7.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, while in six Eurochallenge appearances he logged 6.7 points and 4.3 boards per contest.

During the 2013/2014 campaign Maarten Leunen featured in 33 games for Pallacanestro Cantu (Italy, Serie A) and over 33 games he offered 7.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Maarten Leunen had spent four seasons in Cantu since leaving Oregon in 2008.
