Karpos Sokoli banned 5 years from ABA

Karpos SokoliBelgrade, Serbia – The ABA League Assembly met on July 24th. One of the matters tackled was regarding Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The team’s president, Ognjen Dedic had made statements which significantly damaged the image of the ABA League and its sponsors. As a result, the team was fined €12,000. Each ABA team was set to receive €12,000 for transportation in 2016/17. The fine imposed will be taken from the amount that was to be given to Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje.

Aside from the financial penalty, the ABA League clubs decided to slap a 5-year ban on the team from participating in all competitions organized by the ABA.

The 2017/18 season of the ABA will tip off on September 29th, with all 12 participating teams hitting the hardwood to play out the first game of the regular season.
