He was the first overall draft pick and has truly lived up to the hype that surrounded him. The big man turned in an impressive rookie campaign with averages of 18.1 ppg, 10.7 rpg, and 1.7 bpg. The 20-year-old showed a lot potential especially when it came to his diverse skillset. He now headlines a core of talented young players on the Timberwolves roster, which include Canadian Andrew Wiggins, Spaniard Ricky Rubio, and Senegalese center Gorgui Dieng. Expect Towns to quickly come into his own sooner than later and be one of the league’s top big men moving forward.
