Joey Haywood (185 cm, St. Mary’s’11) has played many seasons for the Halifax Hurricanes (Canada-NBL) and will be joining them again this 2016-17 season. Joey has dual citizenship from Canada and Trinidad and Tobago. He was a one-time member of the Trinidad and Tobago national team in 2010. He did not play in the 2015-16 season and this will be a chance for the player to get back in touch with his roots in a team that he is very familiar with. Haywood started 2014-15 with U.M.F. Grindavik (Iceland-Dominos League) where he played four games and averaged 17.5 ppg and 5.8 apg. In November 2014 he moved back to the Halifax Hurricanes where he ended up finishing the season. In 45 games, Haywood produced averages of 11.5 ppg and 2.1 apg.
