Former NBA player Ike Diogu (204 cm, Arizona State’05) is slated to make his debut for Leone de Ponce from Puerto Rico’s BSN this week. The Nigerian-American forward is coming off a 41-game stint playing for the Guangdong Southern Tigers from China’s CBA. During that run Diogu averaged 16.9 ppg and 9.7 rpg. The Tigers were the CBA’s Regular Season Champions and CBA Champions this 2013.

He was briefly signed by the Phoenix Suns, but did not see action. In 2012 he was with the Capitanes de Arecibo, also from Puerto Rico’s BSN, so he is no stranger to that league. In 15 games for the Capitanes in the Puerto Rican league Diogu averaged 18.1 ppg and 9.9 rpg, while managing 19.3 ppg and 9.7 rpg for them in three games in the Liga Americas.
