Henry Domercant lost for season to Galatasaray

Henry Domercant

Henry Domercant (193 cm, Eastern Illinois’03) has been lost for the 2012-13 season by Galatasaray (Turkey-TBL). The point guard has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will have surgery to repair the damage, then will follow-up with a number of months of physical therapy and rehabilitation. Recovery time and return to competitive athletics varies greatly due to the individual, different methods of reconstruction if that route was taken, how closely the athlete follows the recommended course of recovery, etc. In the meantime, Galatasaray is looking for Domercant’s replacement, with their eyes on Carlos Arroyo (188 cm, Florida International’01), who has 10 seasons of experience playing in the NBA with Toronto, Utah, Detroit, Orlando and Miami. In 2011-12 Arroyo suited up for Besiktas and averaged 10.7ppp and 3.6apg in 9 EuroChallenge games, as well as 14.7ppg and 4.4apg in 27 Turkey-TBL games. It’s been reported that to sign him will require Besiktas to be paid a buy-out fee as established in Arroyo’s contract.
