Gordon Herbert to coach Frankfurt

Gordon Herbert
Gordon Herbert has been installed as the new head coach of German BBL team Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt on a two year contract. Canadian-Finnish Herbert has replaced the out-going Muli Katzurin who left the team after two years and a poor season. Herbert was in Germany during the 2011-2012 season as the head coach of ALBA Berlin but it is with the Skyliners that Herbert feels at home. It will be the 54-year olds third stint with Frankfurt after coaching them from 2001 to 2004 and for the 2010-2011 season.

In the past with Frankfurt Gordon Herbert has found success. He won the German Bundesliga championship in 2004 and reaching the semi-finals in 2011. Herbert has also been the head coach at Thessaloniki (Greece), Paris Baskets (France), and Espoo (Finland) while he was also an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA in 2009.
