Flight win on the road

The visiting Florida Flight broke open a close game in the third quarter, en route to a second straight convincing 110-90 win over the Palm Beach Titans at Inlet Grove Community High School in Riviera Beach.

Up by just six at halftime, the Flight (2-3) outscored the Titans 24-12 in the third quarter and were never threatened thereafter.

The Flight’s attack featured exceptional balance, as eight players posted double-digit scoring. Jonathan Adamson (6’4”-G/F-87, college: Elmira) and Shannon Diamond (6’8”-F/C, college: Flagler) led the way with 15, Greg St. Remy netted 14, Adam Waldo 12, Ernest Jones (5’11”-G-81, college: Florida St.) and Peter Joyner scored 11, and Garvin Gordon (6’7”-F-78) and Kamar Russell (6’5”-G/F) had 10 apiece.

Adamson and Diamond led the Flight with 10 rebounds each, while Jones paced the team with seven assists. Defensively, the Flight put forth a superior effort, holding the Titans to just 30% from the field overall. The Titans (1-4) were led by Andy Stoute, who scored a game-high 22 points, while Loren Samuels pulled down 16 rebounds.

“This was a true team victory in every sense of the word,” said Flight Owner and Coach Mark King. “Hopefully this performance carries over next weekend against the Rebels.”

The Flight are on the road again next weekend, traveling to Tampa Bay for their second matchup against the Tampa Bay Rebels.

The game is Saturday, June 16th at Freedom High School. Tip-off is 8:00pm. The mission of the Florida Flight is to utilize the platform of professional basketball to invest in the lives of others.
