Evgeny Pashutin appointed Russia NT coach

Evgeny Pashutin

The Russian Basketball Federation has made a decision to shake things up in the national team. They are bringing in Evgeny Pashutin as the new head coach. The 44-year-old Pashutin has been coaching Lokomotiv Kuban for the last two seasons. He led the team to a VTB United League finals appearance and a Eurocup Championship in 2013. Lokomotiv also currently leads Group D in the ongoing Turkish Airlines Euroleague with an impressive 6-1 record.

Pashutin’s addition was precipitated by Russia’s early exit in the 2013 Eurobasket. The Russian basketball federation was in the middle of some changes, which led to the detriment of the coaching situation of the National Team.
