DerMarr Johnson signs with Libertad Sunchales
Argentinian Liga A outfit Libertad Sunchales have added American DerMarr Johnson (206 cm, Cincinnati’00) to their playing roster, he had recently finished a stint at Osos De Guadalajara in the Mexican LNBP. DerMarr Johnson has impressed in the six games he has played this season for the Osos, posting statistics of 26.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg in those turnouts. Libertad Sunchales are 5th in the Liga A standings, and Johnson will take his place in the team for the remainder of Second Stage season. 32-year old DerMarr Johnson is well-travelled, having played in the Philippines (Barako Bull), Colombia (Bucaros), Lebanon (Sagesse), and Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), China, and Italy. However, he is best known to hoop fans from his days as an NBA player, joining the Atlanta Hawks as the 6th draft pick overall in 2000. He went on to play for the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks.
