D.J. Strawberry signs with Arecibo

Former NBA guard D.J. Strawberry (196 cm, Maryland’07) is headed to Puerto Rico via his signing with the Capitanes de Arecibo (BSN). He was drafted out of college in 2007 by the Phoenix Suns, in the second round (59th).

In 2012-13 Strawberry played for KK Cibona VIP Zagreb from Croatia’s A1. He represented the Croatian powerhouse in three leagues that season. In the Adriatic league he averaged 14.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg. In six games in the Eurocup he hit averages of 10.5 ppg and 4.8 rpg. In the Croatian league Strawberry averaged 14.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Cibona won the Croatian A1 league championship in 2013. That was after finishing atop of the A1 league standings during the regular season.
