On December 2014 Lebanese Division A club Champville was sanctioned by FIBA for its continued breach to honor an award issued by the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) in October 2014. FIBA imposed a ban on the registration of new players by the club. BAT issued an award in favor of claimant, Nigerian player Jeleel Akindele (photo above), for outstanding salaries, bonuses, and extra work pay. Akindele played eight games for Champville during the 2012/13 season.

For reference, the details of the award reads as follows:

1. Cercle Sportif Maristes, Champville Club is ordered to pay Mr. Jeleel Ayodeji Akindele USD 26,668.00 in respect of salaries and bonuses.

2. Cercle Sportif Maristes, Champville Club is ordered to pay Mr. Jeleel Ayodeji Akindele USD 1,381.25 and EUR 1,500.00 as contribution to his legal fees and expenses.
3. The costs of this arbitration until the present Award, which were determined by the President of the BAT to be in the amount of EUR 4,980.47, shall be borne by Cercle Sportif Maristes, Champville Club solely. Accordingly, Cercle Sportif Maristes, Champville Club is ordered to pay Mr. Jeleel Ayodeji Akindele EUR 4,980.47.
4. Any arbitration costs associated with a Request for Reasons shall be advanced and borne by the requesting party.
5. Any other or further-reaching requests for relief are dismissed.
