Bryan Smithson signs with Svitavi

Bryan Smithson (183 cm, UNC-Asheville ’08) is going to play for Turi Svitavi (Czech Republic-NBL). The point guard will be making his first appearance in the Czech Republic league where he will look to show his three-point prowess. Previously, Smithson played for Heidelburg (Germany-ProA) where he scored 12.1 ppg while shooting 40 percent from three-point range. He also played in Bosnia for Siroki Primorka which made it to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup final in 2009.

Smithson played two years for UNC-Asheville from 2006-2008. Both years consisted of three-point shooting for the sharpshooter. In his senior year, he scored 16.4 ppg and 4.1 apg while shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc. As long as his three point shot is falling, he will find quality minutes for his new team.
