Brose Baskets keeps recovered Goldsberry

Brose Baskets Bamberg reached an agreement with playmaker John Goldsberry to keep him in the team next season, the club announced Friday. Goldsberry (1.91 meters, 29 years old) missed the entire 2011-12 season due to a severe knee injury on top of an ankle problem. He averaged 4.4 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game in the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague and 4.1 points, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals in the German League. He helped Brose Baskets to successfully defend both the German League and the German Cup titles. This will be his fifth season in Bamberg, as Goldsberry signed his first contract with Brose Baskets in summer 2008. Goldsberry has also played for Artland Dragons Quakenbrueck and Bayer Leverkusen in Germany since finishing his four-year career at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

“I believe I speak on behalf on all basketball fans in Bamberg when I say that we are pleased about John’s extraordinary comeback,” Brose general manager Wolfgang Heyder said.
