British Basketball League opens with 3 games

British Basketball League

September 27, 2013 – The British Basketball League gets ready to tip-off for the 2013-14 season. They open with three games. We have the London Lions facing off against the Manchester Giants in their new home, the Copper Box Arena. The One Health Sharks Sheffield will be at home at EIS Sheffield versus the Cheshire Phoenix and last but not the least it’s the Durham Wildcats squaring off against the Newcastle Eagles at Sports Central.

Cheshire’s Chez Marks (191 cm, Morehead State’04) will once again be in the spotlight. Will he be able to replicate his 2012-13 22.0 ppg scoring average this season?

The reigning BBL Champions, the Leicester Riders, get to take their first step in this season’s title-defense campaign against the Birmingham Knights tomorrow, September 28. Also on tap that night is a match between Surrey United versus the visiting Worcester Wolves.

The Riders will clearly have a bulls-eye on their backs, but athletic Drew Sullivan (203 cm, Villanova’03) should be a key factor for his club once again.
