Atkinson and Pearson released by BK Lions

The BK Lions Jindrichuv Hradec of the Czech Republic (NBL) have decided to part ways with Zach Atkinson (206 cm, Cal-Irvine’10) and Roderick Pearson (187 cm, ORU’12). This news comes in the wake of the team’s addition of Slovenian guard Matej Venta (188 cm) last week. Venta most recently played for BK Prostejov, also from the NBL. He averaged 9.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg for them in 11 games.

Atkinson joined the team in December and averaged 5.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg. A knee injury has now sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Pearson was signed on a try-out basis and the team has deemed it that the rookie guard was no longer needed.
