Benas Veikalas stays with Telekom Baskets

Benas Veikalas (192 cm, Metro State’07) will be remaining with Telekom Baskets Bonn from Germany’s BBL for two more seasons. The Lithuanian joined the German team in 2011.

In 2012-13 the 29-year-old Veikalas averaged 9.7 ppg and 2.3 rpg in 12 games in the EuroChallenge. The team made it as far as the quarterfinals in that competition in 2013. In 36 games in the German BBL he hit averages of 11.4 ppg and 2.6 rpg. He shot well from beyond the arc that season, hitting 43.1% of his shots from downtown. In 2011-12 he averaged 13.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg in the German Bundesliga.
