ASVEL Unbeaten in 7Days EuroCup Top-16

French club ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne is just one win away from securing a berth to the playoff in the 7Days EuroCup. They’ve put together an impressive run so far and are currently unbeaten with 4-0 record in the top-16.

They came through with a blowout victory over the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt 75-52. The put on a clinic and led throughout out the contest. With only two games left in the this phase, they’re pretty much assured of a ticket to move on and can be considered as one of the favorites to have a deep playoff run in the 7Days Eurocup.

A.J. Slaughter paced ASVEL with 15 points but there was little pressure nor resistance coming from the side of the Fraport Skyliners. Only Jason Clark was able to record points in double figures for the team from Frankfurt with 13 to his name. Fraport Skyliners are now 0-4 and are guaranteed to not advance in the competition.

There were just two other games played on January 22nd and they were from Group E. ALBA Berlin edged out Rytas 87-85 and BC Partizan managed snipe a game off Monaco, 68-71.

As things stand, only Valencia Basket and MoraBanc Andorra (3-0) have a shot at matching ASVEL’s currently perfect run in the top-16. They face off against Crvena Zvezda and Zenit tonight, respectively.
