Ashton Gibbs to play in Spain

Ashton Gibbs (188 cm, Pittsburgh’12) has been signed by Club Ourense Balocesto SAD from Spain’s LEB Gold. Gibbs recently left Panionios on Telecoms Athens from Greece’s A1 League. Before his departure in December 2012, Gibbs played four games for Panionios in the EuroCup and averaged 4.5 ppg and 1.3 rpg. He also managed to play eight games in the Greek League and there he logged averages of 6.3 ppg and 2.3 rpg.

Panionios was his first stint after college. In his senior year at Pittsburgh, Ashton Gibbs averaged 15.5 ppg and 2.4 rpg. In 2011 he was named to the All-Big East 1st Team and the NABC Division I All-district 5 First Team as well.
