Fotsis returns to Panathinaikos

Antonis Fotsis
Antonis Fotsis (209 cm) will return to his native Greece next season after agreeing to sign with Panathinaikos Athens (Greece A1, Euroleague) for the 2013/2014 campaign. The forward has been playing with Armani Milano (Italy, Serie A) this season but will leave the club when his contract expires in the coming weeks. The 32-year old featured in 16 Euroleague games this season for Milano and averaged 8.4ppg and 5rpg while in 44 Serie A appearances he managed 8.5ppg and 4.7rpg.

Panathinaikos will now secure the services of Antonis Fotsis after missing out on the player last year. The Greek giants offered Milano the 500k euros buyout clause on his contract and backed that up with an offer 5 million euros over three years to the player, but Milano were in no mood to do business and turned the offer down.

Fotsis is very familiar to fans of Panathinaikos, and this will be his third stint with the club, the last ending in 2010 after three seasons. The Greek has played with top clubs throughout Europe including Dynamo Moscow and Real Madrid, while he also played 28 games in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002.
