Anthony Bennett cut by Nets

Anthony Bennett Anthony Bennett (203 cm, UNLV’13) has been waived by the Brooklyn Nets. He is a 23-year-old Canadian player who was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the first-overall pick in the 2013 N.B.A. draft. His selection was arguably one of the biggest surprises in the draft. Unfortunately, Bennett was not able to live up to expectations and was eventually traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014-15. The Nets mark his fourth team in as many seasons as a pro, putting him in notorious company in the history books as possibly one of the biggest draft busts. Anthony played 23 games for Brooklyn this 2016-17 and averaged 5.0 ppg and 3.4 rpg. If he does clear waivers, it will be interesting to see if another organization will be willing to take a chance on the forward.
