Andrea Mazzon becomes head coach at Avtodor Saratov

Andrea Mazzon has been announced as the new head coach of Russian clubs Avtodor Saratov (VTB United League) and will now prepare the club for the 2017/2018 season. The Italian is an experienced trainer who has spent the 2016/2017 campaign managing Guangzhou Long-Lions (China-CBA).

Most people will know Andrea Mazzon as being a head coach in Italy and Greece. He had a five-year association with Umana Reyer Venezia (Italy, Serie A) between 2009 and 2014. He also had a four-year stint as the chief at Aris Thessaloniki in the Greek A1.

The 51-year old is known as a defensive organizer and his teams are always in the best five defences in any competition he has played.
