Alex Loughton stays with Cairns

Alex Loughton (206 cm, ODU,06) has extended his deal with the Cairns Taipans in the Australian NBL and will be with the club for another season. The power forward has been a long term member of the Taipans roster after joining the franchise in 2010. Last season he featured in 28 games and averaged 12.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while in the 2011/2012 campaign he logged 10.5 points and 5.1 rebounds from 28 appearances.

Alex Loughton went to school in the USA and played for Old Dominion University in the NCAA before graduating and returning to his native Australia. He has since featured for the Perth Wildcats and now Cairns Taipans.
