Ales Pipan hired as MZT Skpoje coach

MZT SkopjeAles Pipan will arrive today for final negotiations with management of MZT Skpoje (FYR Macedonia-Prva Liga) to take over the club’s head coaching responsibilities according the the team’s website. If negotiations are concluded during this evening’s meetings, the coach will meet with players and will be presented at a press conference on Friday.

Pipan, a Slovenian, most recently was the head coach of KK Zadar (Croatia-A1), additionally he has coached Anwil Włocławek (Poland), and Slovenian squads: Satex Maribor, KK Zagorje, KK Krka Novo Mesto, Geoplin Slovan, and Laško. He was also named the Polish National Team coach in 2011. Pipan coached the Slovenian National Team at the Eurobasket 2005, 2006 FIBA World Championship and Eurobasket 2007 until he resigned in 2008, when Slovenia didn’t qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach on the Slovenian National Team since 1998.

    Excellent choice. Didn’t know that Macedonian basketball negotiations and separation culture is that superhigh.
