Virtus Bologna (Italy-Serie A) has landed experienced Serbian-Italian coach Aleksandar Djordjevic to take the helm of the team for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
He most recently was the coach of FC Bayern Muenchen (Germany-BBL) from 2016 to 2018. He successfully guided them to a German League championship in 2017.
This comes at the right time as the team is desperately trying to battle for a highly coveted playoff berth in the Italian League. They currently have a 10-11 record and are just one game behind both the seventh and eighth-placed teams, so it isn’t too much of a Hail Mary. Hopefully, Djordjevic’s wealth experience will come in handy and get them those key wins.
